The Great North Wood - Graham “Dids” Dowdall

Gagarin è un progetto di Graham "Dids" Dowdall e il suo ultimo album è The Great North Wood, inspirato all'antica foresta Londinese ricca di misteri e segreti. 

Graham ci presenta nove tracce per un totale di circa un ora di musica elettronica sperimentale. 
Le nuove tecnologie di sintetizzazione incontrano il sound recording, l'analogico e il digitale trovano spazio nelle composizioni di Graham.
Ho trovato The Great North Wood un lavoro meraviglioso pensando al paragone tra musica e natura: alberi secolari dimorano all'interno della foresta e osservano immobili il passare del tempo che avanza senza sosta. 
La musica di Graham presenta delle tracce di analogico quasi volesse richiamare i pilastri strutturali della musica elettronica, a tutto questo il compositore aggiunge i sintetizzatori virtuali, richiamo quindi al progresso e al tempo che scorre.
Bellissimo il dialogo tra i due mondi che trovano luce e armonia in The Great Nort Wood. Le sonorità accese e brillanti si mischiano a profondi tape elettronici. Confesso che mi sono veramente sentito all'interno della foresta descritta cosi scrupolosamente da Graham. 
Graham "Dids" Dowdall ha realizzato un lavoro eccellente che mi ha fatto vivere un'esperienza musicale molto particolare e coinvolgente.

Gagarin is a project by Graham "Dids" Dowdall and his latest album is The Great North Wood inspired by the ancient London forest full of mysteries and secrets.

Graham brings us nine tracks for a total of about one hour of experimental electronic music, new synthesization technologies meet sound recording, analog and digital music find space in Graham's compositions.
I found The Great North Wood a wonderful job thinking about the comparison between music and nature: centuries-old trees dwell within the forest and watch the time passing without stopping.
Graham's music presents traces of analog music almost like if he wanted to recall the structural pillars of electronic music, in this the composer adds virtual synthesizers, thus a reminder of progress and passing time.
Beautiful dialogue between the two worlds that find light and harmony in The Great Nort Wood. The bright and brilliant sounds mix with deep electronic tapes.
I confess that I felt inside the forest described so scrupulously by Graham.
Graham "Dids" Dowdall has composed an excellent job that gave me a very special musical experience.
